Polemics aside, there were some nice productions awarded at the Oscars last week on Sunday, March 27. If you were wondering where to watch the movies that won, I got you.
They were released during the pandemics, so you can watch all of them from the comfort of your home.

CODA
Oscars: Best actor in a supporting role, best writing (adapted screenplay), and best picture
Winner of Best Movie CODA is a perky coming-of-age movie about a hearing teen breaking away from her deaf family. It is available on Apple TV+.
West Side Story
Oscar: Best actress in a supporting role
An adaptation of the 1957 musical, West Side Story explores forbidden love and the rivalry between the Jets and the Sharks, two teenage street gangs of different ethnic backgrounds. The new version was directed by Steven Spielberg and can be watched on Disney+
Dune
Oscars: Best sound, best cinematography, best visual effects, best music (original score), best film editing, and best production design
Dune took home many awards, especially on the more technical side. It's based on a famous sci-fi book from the 60s, with the same title. You can rent it on Amazon.
The Queen of Basketball
Oscar: Best documentary (short subject)
The Queen of Basketball is a 22-minute documentary directed in 2021 by Ben Proudfoot and produced in partnership with The New York Times. It tells the story of Lusia Mae Harris, the first woman to ever be drafted by an NBA team.

Encanto
Oscar: Best animated feature film
'Encanto' is set in Colombia and features several original songs and Disney's signature heart-warming tale of bravery, love, and magic. The film follows an ordinary girl born to a family and house with magical powers. It explores family relations and traumas.

The Windshield Wiper
Oscar: Best short film (animated)
The windshield wiper is a very personal and particular vision of love and relationships. Inside a cafe, while smoking a whole pack of cigarettes, a man poses an ambitious question: "what is love?”. The short sets out to explain.

Drive My Car
Oscar: Best international feature film

Oscar: Best short film (live-action)
Riz Ahmed is a British Pakistani actor, rapper, and activist. In his short The long goodbye he denounces institutionalized racism in the UK.

Cruella
Oscar: Best costume design
The black and white hair, the passion for fashion, her issues with Dalmatians, and her twisted family tree are all examined, explained, and even celebrated. We watch with fascination as her dark side (Cruella) and light side (Estella) struggle for dominance. You can guess which one emerges victorious.

Belfast is a 2021 British coming-of-age drama film written and directed by Kenneth Branagh. The film follows a young boy's childhood in Belfast, Northern Ireland, at the beginning of The Troubles in 1969

In the summer of 1969, not far from Woodstock an event celebrated Soul and Black history with performers such as Stevie Wonder and Nina Simone.
